  • FIVE QUESTIONS THAT I WOULD LIKE TO ASK A PRACTISING LAWYER:
  1. Where did you work when you graduated?
  2. Which was the most difficult subject that you studied?
  3. Have you ever defended a guilty person?
  4. What is the most difficult case that you followed?
  5. To become lawyer has been his boy dream or he has been forced by his parents?

GRAMMAR
Present Simple & Present Continous

- Present Simple (I live, he works...)
They work in a bank
Where do you live?
He doesn't wear glasses
Use the present simple for things that are always true or happen regularly and remember the spelling rules.


- Present Continuous (be+verb+-ing)
Are you going to the park this afternoon?
What are you doing after class?
I'm waiting for a friend
Use the present continuous for action in progress at the time of speaking or for future arrangement.

EXERCISE
Write questions in the present continuous or present simple.
  1. What are you eating? A cheese sandwich.
  2. Where are you having lunch today? At home. My mum's making pasta.
  3. What is he doing? He is an accountant.
  4. Are you going away this week? No we're staying here.
  5. Do you want to eat out tonight? Yes, that would be nice.
  6. What are she cooking? I don't know, but it smells good.

Indirect questions

If the question begin with an auxiliary verb, add if, after could tell me...?

EXERCISE
Make indirect questions.

  1. Where do they live? = Do you know where they live?
  2. Is there a bank near here? = Can you tell me where the bank is?
  3. Where can I buy some stamps? = Do you know where I can buy some stamps?
  4. Does this bus go to the castle? = Could you tell me if this bus goes to the castle?
  5. What time do the shops open? = Do you know what time the shops open?
  6. Where are the toilets? = Colud you tell me where the toilets are?
  7. Is Susan at work today? = Do you know if Susan is at work today?
  8. Did Milan win last night? = Do you know if Milan wins last night?
  9. Where did we park the car? = Can you remember where we parked the car?
  10. What's the time' = Could you tell me what the time is?
